Man Utd takeover LIVE: Glazers 'committed' to club, Raine Group decision this week, share price plunges
Manchester United finally ended their six-year trophy drought by winning the Carabao Cup on Sunday, with Avram Glazer watching on. The American's presence at Wembley Stadium appeared to signal his family remain committed to the club, despite putting it up for sale. There remain question marks over that process though amid speculation that none of the parties currently bidding for the club have met the Glazers' £5billion asking price .
Sir Jim Ratcliffe , US hedge fund Elliott Management and a the Qatari bid fronted by banker Sheikh Jassim bin Hamad Al Thani have all lodged bids to purchase the Red Devils. It is expected that those bidders will hear back at some point this week from the Raine Group, who are in control of the sale process. The Glazers could yet stay on at Old Trafford if their asking price is not met though, in what would likely be a deeply unpopular move.
