Share to Facebook Share to Twitter Share to Linkedin Terminal List Amazon The Terminal List is a smash hit for Amazon with sky-high audience scores and loads of viewing time. So why hasn’t it already been renewed for season 2 yet? Chances are this will end up happening, but we have a few updates about the status of The Terminal List season 2, and where things are at right now. Executive producer Jack Carr, author of the original books, who has attracted some controversy with his proclamations that it’s not “woke,” had this to say to the Daily Mail about the status of season 2: “Chris wants to do it, and Amazon wants to do it.
But it could all fall apart,” Carr said. “It would be an eight-part series based on the second book True Believer. We shall see.
” Chris Pratt is currently negotiating to return, but one of his stipulations may be less of a workload, given how focused every moment of season 1 was on him. Here’s Carr: “We almost killed Chris last time!” Carr said. “He carried the weight of the show on his shoulders but never complained once.
Virtually every scene was him. It was a lot of work. I’ve worked in a couple of subplots to take the pressure off him in the next series.

If you’re wondering how Chris Pratt’s character (spoilers) survive a brain tumor to keep having adventures, the direction the books go next are that (more spoilers) the tumor is benign, and Pratt is free to return as a US government assassin, leading to more adventures. Carr is working on the sixth book in the series, so clearly there’s a lot of runway for the future, if they need it.
It seems like they’ll need it. Amazon Prime really latches onto its hits when it finds them, as it does not have all that many. Its biggest hits have been things like The Boys, which has gotten 4 seasons and a spin-off so far, and Reacher, which will return for season 2.
Lord of the Rings is about to be its biggest experiment yet, and that will no doubt air for years no matter how it initially performs. But The Terminal List feels like something that Amazon needs to make work so it can return for future seasons. They have the source material, they have the fanbase, and I guess the biggest concept is the budget and making sure Pratt is available to return.
I would expect this to get resolved shortly and a season 2 to be announced soon. But it is kind of weird it’s taken this long already. Follow me on Twitter , YouTube , Facebook and Instagram .
