Shortly after the allegations were made public, the Call Me By Your Name star checked into a rehab facility in Florida for seven months, seeking help for drug, alcohol, and sex issues.
In 2021, 26-year-old Effie, who reportedly isn’t giving her real name due to fears of retaliation, claimed the actor ‘violently raped’ her, which he vehemently denied. Effie alleged series producers reached out to ask if she would appear in the feature-length. Addressing the interaction, she said: ‘It is extremely inappropriate of you to exploit such a tragic, vulnerable time in many people’s lives, with no regard whatsoever for our healing process and privacy.
