Even though the industry is considered unconventional for women, I haven’t felt that at Amazon Saudi. “I see so many women taking up different types of jobs within Amazon, from technology and analytics to delivery and supply chain roles. The company offers a wide variety of jobs, from entry-level to expert positions. I have always felt that I am on a level playing field at Amazon where men and women alike have equal opportunities to contribute and explore their full potential. “A diverse workforce means a diversity of opinions, points of view, cultural backgrounds, and experiences that all help us deliver better, faster, and more reliable services to customers. The time is right and the opportunities are many for Saudi women to balance the gender scale in this unconventional field. ” Dana AlShahrani, Last Mile Shift Manager at Amazon Saudi Arabia Dana has a degree in law, but decided to make the pivot to operations. Joining the Amazon team as an Operations Supervisor, she was promoted to Site Manager within the same year. “As the first woman leader of a delivery station in Saudi Arabia, I can testify to the culture at Amazon Saudi and how it empowers every individual, irrespective of gender, race, or background, to learn, grow, and advance their careers. I did not see this as a challenge, but as an opportunity to work hard, collaborate and earn trust. My role as an HR business partner means that I’m in charge of ensuring the associate experience at our sites stays true to our culture and ethos.
