Pacific View League honors its top performers in six spring sports in 2022
Freshman Josh Woodworth of Ventura and senior Franky Carra of Pacifica earned co-Player of the Year honors and freshman Wylan Nelson of Ventura was named the Pitcher of the Year for the 2022 All-Pacific View League baseball team. Named to the first team were Ty Weeks, Braydon Kimble, Tanner Beltkowski, Nathan Silva and Camden Walker of Buena; Dane Dathrego, Danny Lucero and Dash Lopez of Ventura; Nathan Hernandez and Nick Barraza of Pacifica; and Mario Franco of Rio Mesa. Named to the second team were Ronnie Estrada, Eric Rodriguez and Jake Reyes of Oxnard; Aiden Demello, Alejandro Herrera and Damien Valdez of Rio Mesa; Gavin Morales and Kyle Banks of Buena; Rudy Aldana and Nolen Hilditch of Ventura; Devon Wilkes of Pacifica; and Aaron Alvarado of Channel Islands.
Earning honorable-mention selections were Carter Kimble and Jacob Martinez of Buena; Julian Fernandez and Aaron Byrd of Channel Islands; Nolan Moreau and Joseph Ortiz of Oxnard; Alex Villacana and Jorge Rodarte of Pacifica; Michael Garcia and Austin Demello of Rio Mesa; and Bradley Pedersen and Caleb Dooley of Ventura. Anthony Espitia of Ventura and Bryan Willson of Pacifica were the co-Coaches of the Year. Junior Nicolette Hunter of Rio Mesa was named the league MVP, junior KaLeena Gonzales of Oxnard was the Offensive Player of the Year, junior Mariana Palazuelos of Rio Mesa was the Defensive Player of the Year, and sophomore Jasmine Reyes of Rio Mesa earned Pitcher of the Year honors.
Named to the first team were Olivia Bryant, Maricela Ipatzi, Raylene Reyes and Madison Smith of Oxnard; Sarah Coccillos and Jadalynn Sovey of Rio Mesa; Isabella Peinado and Cecelia Perez of Ventura; Hannah Miller of Buena; and Jalessa Garcia of Channel Islands. Named to the second team were Danica Dykstra and Jennie Jacinto of Buena; Alexandria Gutierrez and Bryanne Magana of Oxnard; Anissa DeLaCruz, Mia Hall and Alexi Zambrano of Pacifica; Ciara Lopez, Hailey Olivera, Isabella Serrato and Honest Watson of Rio Mesa; and Samantha Barnard, Savannah Higgins and Zayra Landeros of Ventura. John Ashley of Rio Mesa was named the Coach of the Year. Freshman Adam Anderson of Buena earned Player of the Year honors. Earning first-team honors were Brady McHenry of Buena, Logan Erickson and Adam Reinhold of Ventura, and Dylan Gruber of Rio Mesa. Earning second-team honors were Nathan Long, Taj Marzahl and Ryan Palmisano of Ventura, and Zerek Zeman and Eric Salinas of Oxnard.
Logan Norris of Ventura was named the Coach of the Year. Senior Ben Cruzen of Ventura and sophomore Harnoor Singh of Rio Mesa earned co-Player of the Year honors. Earning first-team honors were Lukas Sussman, Liam McFadyen and Kai Schmidt of Ventura; Raul Aguirre, Amrit Selva and Henry Boldt of Buena; Frankie Gil of Rio Mesa; and Nicander Truong of Oxnard.
Earning second-team honors were Abraham Gutierrez, Jesus Chavez and Bodie Anderson of Rio Mesa; Rhett Paul, Nathan Berglund and Karsten Vivian of Ventura; Klarenz Cenizal and Isaac Ruiz Grade of Channel Islands; and Luis Madrigal of Buena.
