Reaction to news former President Jimmy Carter has entered hospice care at his home
ATLANTA — Former U. S. President and Georgia native Jimmy Carter is entering hospice care at his home in Plains, Ga.
, instead of receiving "additional" medical intervention, the Carter Center said in a statement on Saturday. The former 39th president had been in and out of the hospital recently. In the statement , the Carter Center said that he opted to spend his "remaining time" at home.
Carter, 98, served as commander in chief from 1977 to 1981. Reactions have started to pour in from Carter's family members to city leaders across the country. President Carter's grandson, Jason Carter, said he knows both of his grandparents are "at peace.
